Authorities say a Utah man has been arrested after throwing a Molotov cocktail at a Wells Fargo branch.
Police responded early Thursday morning in West Jordan, about 15 miles south of Salt Lake City. A bank window was cracked, but authorities say the device didn’t explode.
The man arrested is 20 years old. His name wasn’t released. Authorities say a bomb squad removed suspicious items from his car, but it wasn’t immediately clear if they were explosive.

Police say a man called them about 4:30 a.m. from the location, near 2640 W. 9000 South, making some sort of unspecified threat. When officers arrived, they began questioning a 20-year-old man who was sitting inside a car that was parked about 50 feet away from the bank building.
Officers also searched the vehicle and found evidence of a possible explosive, according to West Jordan Fire Battalion Chief Steve Holmes. He said the man is also accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at a window of the bank, which cracked the glass but did not go inside of the building or cause any other damages.
